Potato Casserole

From the Kitchen of: Me, modified from Cyndi Zeibert's original recipe


*CROCK-4 qt: Large bowl, mix sauce ingredients *sour cream; gently stir in potatoes. Spoon just less than 1/3 potato mixture into lightly buttered crockpot, place 3 whole slices of cheese on top, then a thicker layer of mixture, 4 whole slices of cheese, last portion of mixture and break up 2 slices of cheese to place on top. Cook HIGH 4 hrs, stir & test potato, turn off or cook another 15-20 min if needed for tender tato, then turn off Let casserole rest about 20 min. Serve or, may turn to "Warm" for about another hour, if needed, to coordinate the meal.

GRILL: 9x14 heavy foil pan, spray bottom, spread tatoes evenly. Sauce-mix next 7 ingredients, pour 1/2 on top of tatoes. Break cheese slices in half, place on top of sauce, rest of sauce on top. Sprinkle thin layer of corn flakes, drizzle butter overall. On foil-covered small rack, then on grill. Indirect heat at 1 point lower than highest. Cook covered for 1 hour, uncover, cook 1/2 hr.

OVEN:9x13 spray bottom, spread tatoes evenly. Sauce-mix next 7 ingredients, pour 1/2 on top of tatoes. Break cheese slices in half, place on top of sauce, rest of sauce on top. Sprinkle thin layer of corn flakes, drizzle butter overall. 350, UNCOVERED, 1-1/2 hrs.

**Optional Ingredients: peas, broccoli, pepperjack cheese...**cubed crispy-fried spam is good to add after casserole is cooked!
